CNC Engraving

It's official, I have a blog and I know how to use it.

For those who do not know, there is a machine that allows a router to conduct very precise, computer controlled numeric cutting. Yes, a CNC. This allows creativity to meet professionalism. Anything you can draw can be converted to a 2D or 3D model and engraved in a multitude of materials. I have seen some great designs that come out of a tree stump, and simple line art that is very intricate. The machine has its limitations, but overall it is the best technology we have to cut larger surface areas. Laser is more detailed, but not ideal for the above/larger designs.
When talking about materials that will withstand the elements, there is nothing better than HDPE plastic (#2), so for my creations I like to use this durable material as it will last a very long time. now, the question is to find what people want and can't find. I am contemplating picking a theme and developing it for a show. Like anything else it is trial and error. The good news is that once a design is created and in your computer, you can duplicate it quickly and easily. Hopefully, this was educational and has raised questions. If you care to leave comments, or follow-up ideas for other blogs, please feel free.
